The Guardian Reports that Ford Will Cut Jobs at UK Plant
09/20/96
Reuters reported that London's Guardian newspaper ran an article that says Ford Motor Company expects to cut up to 1,000 job cuts at its Halewood plant in north-west England. The cuts follow a plan to outsource parts or farm out the production of certain components to external suppliers. Halewood makes about 800 cars a day and employs 4,500 people.
