Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis Classic Cars At Santa Barbara Concours

Going into its 20th year, the month-after-Pebble-Beach Santa Barbara, CA charity Concours d'Elegance held at Ocean Bluffs, Santa Barbara City College, overlooking the blue Pacific on Sept 21, will display 180 classic cars of all types. Presented by the non-profit scholarship foundation of Santa Barbara--where lots of movie stars live--will feature a variety of Porsches, Ferraris and American classics. Highlight cars are a 1953 Ghia bodied Cadillac, formerly owned by film star Rita Hayworth and Bette Davis and a 1937 Packard convertible. Other interesting cars are a 1951 Ferrari Formula One race car, a 1956 Jaguar D Type, a 1956 Pegaso Panoramica Coupe, a 1958 Porsche Speedster, and a 1957 Ferrari competition Spyder.

Judges for the event--which starts at 10 A.M.--will be Otis Meyer, Historian at Road & Track magazine; Andy Granatelli, of STP fame; Jesse Alexander, ex-Saab USA boss; Bob Sinclair; Keith Coulter; and Buzz Grisinger. For info: 805 965 7212
