Isuzu World Truck Production Leader in 1995

09/05/96

Nikkei English News reported that Isuzu Motors produced a total of 95,223 mid-size and large trucks weighing 6.1 tons and over in 1995, more than any other truckmaker in the world. Mitsubishi Motors ranked second, followed by Ford and Daimler-Benz AG.

World wide truck production increased last year, thanks to firm demand in Japan, the U.S., and Europe. Strong sales allowed Ford to raise mid-size truck output by 9% year on year in volume, while Daimler-Benz boosted output of large trucks by 18.6% on strong domestic and export demand.
