Chrysler Sets U.S. Sales Record

With but a month remaining before the 1997 model year gets under way Chrysler said its U.S. dealers sold 2,189,420 new models from October 1,1985 through August 28, this year. The previous record for a model year was October-September, '94-'95, when the sales record was 2,286,000 units. Chrysler sales are currently running 11% ahead of last year and its market share is 25.8%, up 1,7% above where it was a year ago.
