Saab Moves into Baltic States

08/16/96

Reuters has reported that Saab Automobile will expand its operations into Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, where it has secured three distributors. Saab's co-owners, Sweden's Investor and the U.S.'s GM see great potential for the area, but have set modest sales goals for the first year: they expect to sell between 150 and 200 new cars.

Saab struck the deal with Viking Motors in Estonia, E&S Auto in Latvia, and Piliakalnis in Lithuania. The arrangement includes servicing Saab cars.
