Chrysler's Vehicle Output Up 36% in July

Chrysler announced Monday that its July production was up 36 percent over what it had been in July a year ago. The figures for this July were 157,203 vehicles made worldwide, up from 115,524 a year ago.

Total Car production hit 51,933, up only slightly over the 50,470 cars produced a year ago. Chrysler produces cars in the U.S.A. Mexico and Canada.

Total truck production for the month was 105,270, up 65,054 over last year's July production figures. The truck production for this year includes 9,065 minivan and sport utility vehicles made in Austria. Chrysler was still in the middle of a changeover for one of their minivan models when the figures were published.

The corporation's total July vehicle production for the U.S. and Canada rose only 27 percent to 121,592. The figure for last July was 95,506.
