Buick Sponsors La Raza Conference
07/12/96
Buick Motor Division announced that it will co-sponsor the National Council of La Raza Annual Conference for the third straight year, later this summer. The conference will be held July 14-17, 1996, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
La Raza is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization established in 1968 "to empower Hispanics, from the grass-roots on up, and build a community-based constituency predicated on mutual respect and accountability" to reduce poverty and discrimination.
The four-day conference will focus on the unique opportunities and challenges that face Hispanic Americans and the need for the Hispanic community to mobilize its efforts, in order to play a major role in charting America's course in the 21st Century. More than 15,000 participants are expected to attend.
Buick will co-sponsor the event with General Motors Corporate Relations and GMAC. Buick will display a 1997 LeSabre and 1996 Regal Gran Sport at the event, and will have brand brochures and representatives on hand to support the products and speak to the participants one-on-one.
