NHTSA Announces Recall Of Child Safety Seats

06/18/96

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is concentrating a lot of effort on the subject of child safety seats. Yesterday NHTSA announced the recall of 11,000 seats built by Century Products (Macedonia, OH). and Evenflo, (Piqua, OH). The Century seats, model 4750 are being recalled because of faulty latching components which could allow a buckle to release during a crash. The Evenflo recall involves incorrect copy in their instruction booklet which could be misleading to parents regarding the size of toddlers using the seats.
