Nissan to Cut Base Prices on Infiniti Models

06/11/96

Nissan has announced that their Infiniti Division will cut U.S. sticker prices by thousands of dollars in an attempt to bring them in line with what consumers actually spend to buy the cars.

The price cuts range from 5.1 percent for I30 models to 10.5 percent for Q45 Sedans. In spite of hefty dealer discounts, Infiniti sales have dropped 18.8 percent for this year. The company hopes that lowering sticker prices will allow them to get away from incentives and help dealers start negotiations closer to the finish line.

Infiniti will also follow the lead of major appliance dealers who offer to refund consumers the difference between high and low prices if Infiniti prices fall within thirty days of the time they buy.

Finally Infiniti will also offer a three-day, 250-mile money-back guarantee on used cars sold through its pre-owned vehicle program. Cars sold under the program also have 24-hour roadside assistance and free service loaner cars during their warranty period.
