Nissan Motor Posts 32.4 Billion Yen Pretax Profit

Nissan Motor Co. posted an unconsolidated pretax profit of 32.4 billion yen for fiscal year 1995, which marks a substantial improvement over the 61.1 billion yen loss they reported in 1994. While vehicle exports dropped 3% from last year, domestic sales increased 9% to 1.14 million. Operating profits for Nissan totalled 40 billion yen.

Nissan predicts pretax profit for fiscal 1996 at 70 billion yen. Consolidated net profit is projected at 30 billion yen, due to lower losses at overseas subsidiaries.
