NASCAR: Busch Grand National Series Stanley 200 Rained Out
05/14/96
NASCAR postponed the Busch Grand National Series race that was scheduled to run last Sunday at the New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, NH due to rain. Officials called off the Stanley 200 only a few minutes after its scheduled starting time of 12:30 pm. Over two inches of rain fell on Loudon during the weekend, and very few of the 20,000 fans NASCAR expected showed up. The Busch North Series Stanley 100 was also rained out, also.
Both races have been rescheduled to run at Loudon on Friday, July 12, which is qualifying day for July 14th's Winston Cup 300. Practice for the rained out races will occur on July 11, qualifying day for a Busch North Series 150 mile event which runs on July 13.
