Volkswagen to Help Open Magnesium Extraction Plant in Israel

United Press International reported that Volkswagen will help open a billion dollar magnesium-extraction plant on May 16. The operation will supply the German carmaker with magnesium for car parts and has been constructed near Israel's Dead Sea.

Volkswagen, with 35% of the plants shares, is a minority partner in the plant. Israel's Dead Sea Industries owns the other 65% of the plant's shares.
