Name That Car...Geneva/Turin Auto Shows

A couple of the best attended...by the automtive press and car industry brass, auto shows in the world are Geneva,Switzerland, and the Turin, Italy show two weeks ago. More far out designs/concepts appear at these two shows than at any other auto shows in the world. This is where the highly creative designers and car crafters display a variety of sometimes futuristic designs with the purpose of gauging public reaction but most importantly attempting to interest the major car makers in adopting some of their designs or at least facets of these designs. Here are some of the car salon impressarios design exercises at these two shows. ...and their primary styling cues.

Italdesign               Formula 4 Sports car. No doors
Bertone Slalom           Sleek fastback   two doors  Opel Chassis
Jaguar XK8               Show stopper in Jaguar XKE tradition
DeTomaso Bigua           Porsche-like. Designed by Lamborghini stylist
Zagato Raptor            Looks like Diablo  two seats  V-12  490 Hp
Ford Lynx                two door Fiesta   Enter via a "smart card" in door jam
Renault Fiftie           looks like '50s CV4/VW Beetle throwback,. 60hp
Opel Sintra  Wagon       Made in U.S. Like a Chevy Lumina van  V-6
Sbarro Issima            Expensive Alfa-like sports car. 2 Alfa V-6s
Rinspeed Yello Talbo     Looks like an old Talbot Lago classic. Ford
Maggiora Barchetta Coupe Looks like MGB coupe.  Four cylinder.
Italdesign Hammer        Same as Formula 4 without doors.sporty
Stola Dedica             Beautiful  2-seater w/headrest Fiat motor
Opel Tonga               Far out version of the Toyota Rav 4. May come to U.S.
Fiat Palio               four seats,2-doors. Saftey first car runs on gasohol
Pinanfarina Eta Beta     commuter car. 2-seats.gullwing doors. Wild
Ghia Saetta              Weird. Looks like a bay Taurus with a hangover
Ghia Alpe                Ford Escort platform mini sport Ute
