Coors to Sponsor IRL Driver Robbie Buhl and Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge

Coors Brewing Co. has thrown its hat into the ring as an important sponsor of this year's Indy 500, the 80th running of the event. Coors will sponsor 29 year old rookie driver Robbie Buhl; the $60,000 USAC sanctioned Carburetion Day event, the Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge; and part of this year's FanFest.

Coors has decided to sponsor Buhl, a native of Detroit, for the Indy 500 on Memorial Day and for the rest of the IRL season, at events in New Hampshire and Las Vegas. Buhl races for Beck Motorsports Team.

Coors' has also joined with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation to sponsor this year's Carburetion Day Pit Stop Challenge. The Coors Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge will be open to all all qualified teams that have entered in the Indy 500. The Pit Stop Challenge is sanctioned by the United States Auto Club and carries a purse of $60,000. The event earns $5,000 for a designated charity, runs after the final practice session on the Thursday before the 500 (May 23), and is open to the public
