Lincoln Going Stock Car Racing?

04/30/96

Ford NASCAR drivers John Andretti and Rusty Wallace are rumored to be testing Lincoln MarkV111s for possible Winston Cup competition in 1997. Though the T-bird look-alikes appear to be heavy-heavy luxury cars all they have to do for NASCAR is meet mininnimum weights. But most importantly...the term most oft used both in Indy Car and NASCAR is the search for "down force" and with the Lincolns rear deck lid four inches longer than the Bird this could have a positive effect on handling. This is a Ford project.
