Front Wheel Drive Sport Utility Vehicles to Come?

United Press International reported that two new studies indicate that consumers want their sport utility vehicles to carry the same performance features that many of today's cars have, including front wheel drive.

The annual "MPV Consultancy" study released by AutoPacific, Inc reveals that consumers want on-road performance that current truck-based SUVs simply cannot deliver--they want handling, maneuverability, acceleration and braking well beyond today's standards.

If consumers want more car-like performance from their SUVs, they will likely get it. 28 new SUVs will soon hit the market, and about half of them will be car-based.
