Lincoln Unveils 'Dream' Sports Car

04/11/96

Styled for the year 2000 Lincoln named its new "design exercise" sports car the L2K (L 2000) and though this $1million creation may never see dealer showrooms the public loves. Probably this consumer acceptance is due to the fact that the sexy, well rounded and agressive styling is so un-Lincoln. It's a two-seater and is powered by a 32 alve, 3.4 liter V8 putting out 250hp via a foyr speed automatic transmission. The hot rod Lincoln only weighs 2900 pounds which certainy puts the car in the sporty car class. It has an overall length of 158.4 inches, wide stance, analog gauges in the cockpit, seventeen inch tires and dual airbags. Most noticeable design cue on the L2K is the absence of door handles as the car is opened with a push button on the key fob.
