NASCAR Aces Wallace and Earnhardt Test in Japan

Winston Cup series drivers Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace returned from a Goodyear tire two-day test session at the Suzuka,Japan 1.4 mile road course. Earnhardt is enthusiastic about the upcoming November exhibition race and said they dialed in the cars to run the same compounds they run at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma which is similar in length to Suzuka. Wallace said most of the passing action will take place on the front straight. Rustys Miller Firebird turned in lap times of 53 seconds and they said in November they'll run 51 second laps. Goodyear was able to test 30 tires.
