Land Rover, makers of those big square, dependable, bullet proof and expensive (in most cases) four wheel drive semi-luxo cars announces they will be bringing the Defender 90 back to North America in 1997 and it will have an automatic trans and a 182hp, 4.0 liter V-8 motor. It will be priced around $34,00 according to L.R. V.P. Roger Ball.

The company will also bring out a limited edition Discovery named the XD and it will be dolled up with AA yellow exterior paint. L.R. enjoyed record sales for March as 1,764 vehicles went over the curb at 31 dealerships bringing the year-to-date sales total to 5,618 units as a result of this sales success L.R. is constructing a new $10 million facility in Lanham, Md.
