Automotive Hall of Fame Nominees

The Automotive Hall of Fame, Midland, Mi., honors the men and women who made..who pioneered the automotive industry from its earliest beginnings. At a black tie ceremony at Detroits Westin Hotel the following inductees will be honored.

  • Frank J. Campbell and H.T. Ewald, founders of the industrys first big time advertising agency, Campbell-Ewald, todays ad agency for Chevrolet.
  • Ed Davis was the first African-American auto dealer.
  • J. Frank Duryea was one of two brothers who are credited with starting the auto industry in the U.S.
  • William Maybach (Maybach Zepplin) designed the first Mercedes.
  • Nicholas Otto invented the four stroke internal combustion engine.
  • Freelan Stanley and his brother Francis invented the Stanley Steamer.
