Ford Exports Set Monthly Record in February

03/28/96

Ford Motor Company announced that their exports for the month of February reached an all-time monthly record of 13,597 units. Their previous monthly export record was 12,141 units, set in April, 1994. The company sees export growth as part of a larger trend that was reflected in export statistics for the whole of last year. In 1995 Ford exported 251,181 cars and trucks, a 30% increase over 1994's figures and up 75% over the exports for 1993.

The Company relates its success exporting vehicles to the Ford 2000 Matrix reorganization. In 1995 the reorganization saw the integration of previously separate export activities for Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific into a single sales and marketing unit.

Ford's top direct export markets by volume in 1995 were Brazil and Argentina (69,399 units shipped), Japan (20,131 units shipped), Puerto Rico (15,815 units shipped), the GCC states (10,928 units).
