Danny Sullivan Acquitted of Assault and Harassment

The Associated Press reported that a Pitkin County, Colorado jury found former Indy 500 winner Danny Sullivan innocent of the charges of third-degree assault and harassment that were brought against him by his girlfriend of 14 years, Julie Nini.
Nini claimed that Sullivan had choked, pushed, and verbally abused her on September 14, 1995, at their home in Aspen, Colorado. Sullivan denied the charges but did admit that an argument transpired that day. The argument involved who would live in Sullivan's Red Mountain, Colorado house, Which was sold in September. The news report quotes Sullivan as saying, "I can tell you one thing, there was no physical contact that day."
Jury deliberations after the trial on Saturday lasted for one hour.
