ESPN and NBC Merging?

Just for a few hours next Memorial Day, when NBC-TV west coast President Don Ohlmeyer, well known for his years of successful premier motorsports TV productions, directs the ESPN telecast of the U.S. 500.

A couple of years ago when Ohlmeyer sold his highly successful TV production company to ESPN so he could join NBC, he left the door open (contract clause) to direct several major motorsports events, which is what CART/INDY CAR hopes their Memorial Day race in Michigan will turn out to be. CART's U.S. 500 will go up against the 82nd running of the Indianapolis 500 at the brickyard.
