Mitsubishi Employees to Move Around

03/05/96

NikkeiNet reported that Mitsubishi plans to reorganize its non-Japanese labor force to facilitate the transfer of employees between countries. The move is supposed to allow for effective use of overseas staff. Employees who participate will be offered pay commensurate with what Mitsubishis employees at the company's head office in Japan get.

The moves will take place within three major blocks: Asia; the Americas; and Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company will start the new scheme on a very small scale (5-10 employees in Asia, 4 in the Americas, and 4 in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East), but the company hopes to expand the program.
