SportsTicker reported that the Grand Prix of Miami moved from downtown Miami to Homestead, FL for the first PPG IndyCar race of the season. Traditionally the Grand Prix of Miami took place on the streets of downtown. This season the race moved to a new 1.51-mile oval track in Homestead, FL, and is called the Marlboro Grand Prix. Jacques Villeneuve, winner of last year's Miami Grand Prix and defending IndyCar World Series champion, did not race in Homestead this year, because he left IndyCar racing to compete in the Formula One World Championship.
