F1: Testing in Estoril Over, Teams Gear up for First Race
02/28/96
Atlas Team F1 reported that pre-season Formula One testing in Estoril, Portugal is over and that the Williams and Benetton teams were back in Paris. Benetton-Renault driver Jean Alesi announced that he was looking forward to the first Grand Prix (Australia), and Williams' driver Damon Hill lauded his new car. The new Williams racer has better aerodynamics than it had last and year grips the track more fiercely. Hill's teammate Jacques Villeneuve had his eye on the competition rather than the prizes the team could win. He said that other teams' new cars have reduced the advantage that Williams had last year.
