GM Workers Extend Strike Deadline Indefinitely

The Associated Press reported that UAW's Local 696 at two GM brake component plants has indefinitely postponed the 10:00 a.m. strike deadline they set for Monday. The strike was postponed because the workers are pleased with the progress they are seeing in negotiations with GM. UAW Local 696 represents 3,000 workers, and a strike could stop production at plants other than just the two brake component plants.
