1,800 Chevrolet Cavaliers Sold in Japan in first month

Reuters reported that during their first month of sales, Toyota Motor Corp. received 1,800 orders for the right-hand drive Toyota Cavaliers that GM is producing for the Japanese market. GM says the Toyota Cavalier Sedans and Coupes have been tailored specifically for the Japanese consumer.

Toyota had aimed to sell 20,000 of the vehicles annually, or about 1,700 per month. The cars were released on January 20th; by February 19th Toyota had received orders for about 950 sedans and 850 coupes.
