Taurus Prices to Drop in Japan

02/23/96

NikkeiNet has reported that Ford Motor Co. will lower prices on new Taurus models in Japan by more than 5%. Ford currently charges about 3 million Japanese Yen for a right-hand drive Taurus powered by a 3,000cc engine. The new pricing will take effect on March 1st. Ford's Japanese subsidiary hopes to sell between 17 and 18 thousand of the new Taurus cars this year. Ford has been selling the Taurus in Japan with an advertising campaign that plugs its price competitiveness as compared to its European rivals.
