F1 in St Petersburg: Barber Dodge Pro Series

Motor Sports News International reported that the 11th season opener for the SCCA sanctioned Barber Dodge Pro Series will take place on the 25th of February, in St. Petersburg, FL: the Kash n Karry Florida Grand Prix. Round 2 of the series will be the 12 Hours of Sebring race on March 16. The Barber Dodge Pro Series features single-seat, open-wheel racers powered by 3.5 liter Dodge V6 engines. Skip Barber Racing owns and prepares all the cars.

Expect two full fields (28 drivers altogether). Drivers to watch are favored driver Geoff Boss; Derek Hill; Jeff Bucknum; Tony Renna; Last year's Rookie of the Year Tim Moser; Memo Goldey; Rocky Moran, Jr.; Sweden's Fredrik Larsson; and Norway's Thomas Schie. Interesting new faces include Italy's Reno Mastronardi; Denmark's Jacob Sund; France's Nicolas Rondet. Just turning pro will be Jeff Willoughby; Chris Menninga; Andres Felipe Gomez; Steve Rikert; Sieja Ara; Leandro Larrossa; G.J. Mennen; and Brian Selby.

ESPN2 will broadcast the race tape-delayed on Sunday, March 10, 4:30pm, EST.
