Climbing into the 2022 Passport AWD Trailsport from Honda was a interesting experience for me as my first new car was the 1972 Honda 600 (out the door for $1,600) and you could fit three of them in the Passport. Like all Honda vehicles the interior seems bigger because of the space utilization and lack of wasted design space. As for brand loyalty, the overwhelming majority of Passport buyers are Honda owners.

Beneath the hood is the tried and true 3.5-liter V6 directly injected engine achieving 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The 24 valves have variable timing and cylinders have deactivationI to provide fuel economy. The week of testing using mixed city/freeway driving came up at 30 mpg. The 9-speed shiftable automatic coupled with all wheel drive resulted in a firm, predictable, and almost silent ride, and while I did not climb and rocks, the dirt and gravel roads I put it on... well, let's just say if the Passport could, it would've shrugged its shoulders.
