Used Truck Review: The Award Winning 2020 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel Might Just Change Your Mind About Owning A Truck

Auto Central May 27, 2022; Remember in junior high how there was always a certain team that would win the championship game? Football, softball, basketball, baseball, etc. Somehow they had the guts to pull off a win with skill and determination. Winners win for a reason.

It’s no different in the car industry. Granted it goes in cycles, but the team to catch right now is FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). I drove the Truck of Texas just a month ago and it was easy to see why it’s such a contender. The 2020 RAM 1500 checks so many boxes that the pool of consumers is expanding exponentially.  Viewing a truck as a family vehicle, makes it an option, many times, over a van or SUV.

RAM’s EcoDiesel provides power that competitors drool over.  The half-ton provides 480 lb.-ft. of torque and 12,580 pounds of the best towing in its class.  Making trails in the “Rebel” edition surprised this SUV owner.  I never thought of trucks as economical on gas, but this baby could cross Texas on one tank of diesel.  Sounds like a good road tripper to me.

Interior space is ample.  The quad cab was roomy and comfortable.  Leather and red accents made for a pleasing experience for both driver and passenger.  It’s easy to imagine taking it for a trip to the grocery or even the Grand Canyon, you choose.

Erica Mueller of Texas Drive Blog was my driving partner for this stint and we both remarked how smooth the ride was and the quiet nature of the EcoDiesel engine.  No more rattle…just power.  Its 12 inch touchscreen Infotainment System brings luxury to the cab as well.  No compromises in considering this truck for your family.
