Official NHTSA RECALL NOTICE - Jeep Recalls 2014 Cherokees For Transmission Problem

The Facts:

Vehicles involved: 81,164 of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee SUVs built from Feb. 27, 2013, through July 11, 2014.

The Issue:

The NHTSA says that because of a software problem, the transmission can unexpectedly shift into Neutral, resulting in a loss of power and raising the risk of an accident.
