SACRAMENTO - June 5, 2017: Queensland Renewable Fuels (QRFA) Managing Director, Larissa Rose has spent two days in Sacramento, California meeting with government departments and key industry leaders on low carbon policies, renewable fuel initiatives and technologies.

Ms. Rose visited the Californian capital Sacramento, to gain a greater understanding on the triple bottom-line policy parameters and mechanisms that make California the leaders in low carbon fuel policies.

QRFA’s government and industry engagement in Sacramento has been supported by QRFA’s industry alignment through Gerry Ostheimer, Below50 and Graham Noyes, Low Carbon Fuel Coalition (LCFC) and Below50.

Ms Rose met with Mr Noyes, a Californian attorney known nationally for his work on advanced renewable fuel policy and regulatory issues.

“Through QRFA’s industry network engagement with Below50 in Queensland, we have had the opportunity to connect and met with Mr Noyes, who has secured an outstanding two days of high-level departmental meetings for QRFA”, said Ms Rose.

Mr Noyes provided pivotal introductions to high-level positions and attended all meetings with Ms Rose, assisting her with understanding the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) and deriving key policy components, barriers, opportunities, and new capabilities that Queensland can gain from the LCFS.

Further to the departmental meetings Ms Rose attended, Mr Noyes invited her to attend the Californian Air Resources Board’s (ARB) Co-processing Work Group Meeting, which is part of the Transportation Fuels Branch of ARB.

“I value this opportunity to gain an insight of how California is working towards developing the renewable fuels industry to strengthen environment sustainability policies, attain low carbon fuel goals whilst working alongside the petroleum industry in the transition to renewable fuels,” said Ms Rose.

QRFA will be continuing to build and strengthen their United States industry alignment, as a key component of QRFA’s Global Renewable Fuel Agenda.

“It is significant that QRFA provide a larger network to its members, corporate sponsors, and partners, whilst assisting domestic projects and working alongside the Queensland State Government’s biofuel initiatives”, Ms Rose said.
