The origins of TAC date back to the early 1970s when CEO Trent Kimball's father had a dream. While working for the U.S. Government as a special agent and living in Latin America, he learned firsthand how armored vehicles can save lives and disarm would-be terrorists, criminals, and kidnappers.
The dream was to bring premium armored vehicles to the world's elite and protect families across the globe – which he did for twenty years, delivering thousands of vehicles worldwide. Then, following the sale of his father's company in 1993, Kimball utilized the vast knowledge his father had obtained over the years and went out to build a new company in his own vision now known as Texas Armoring Corporation.
Reflecting on TAC's history, Kimball says, "Back when I first started in the industry in 1997, buying an armored passenger vehicle meant sacrificing luxury for security, and nobody offered any of the luxury brands. My vision for TAC was to create a company that incorporated advanced, lightweight armoring materials in order to provide both.
