Honda Brings VR Experience to Twin Cities Auto Show

MINNEAPOLIS, March 10, 2017 -- Experience the first-ever virtual reality test drive of the 2017 Honda Civic Si at the 44th Annual Twin Cities Auto Show on behalf of the Greater Twin Cities Honda Dealers Association (GTCHDA). Starting March 11 – 19 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, auto show attendees have the chance to experience the newest addition to the 10th-generation Civic lineup and view the rest of Honda's award-winning lineup at the Honda exhibit (Booth 29).

Through GTCHDA's partnership with VR Motion, visitors will have the unique opportunity to take a 360-degree virtual test drive of the high-performance Civic Si without ever having to leave their seat. Test drivers will have the vehicle's features at their fingertips like never before with the ability to buckle seatbelts, shift gears, hear the engine rev, peer through the moonroof, and check out the backseat. The virtual test drive experience is free of charge during all open show hours and will be open to all drivers on a first-come, first-serve basis.

"It's a one of a kind experience. We are excited to put Honda enthusiasts in the driver's seat so that they can experience the Civic Si's powerful and sporty handling without ever having to leave the auto show," said Kyle Allison, association president and general manager of Luther Hopkins Honda.

The Honda Civic Si Prototype made its global debut at the 2016 Los Angeles International Auto Show. According to Honda, the new Si will feature performance upgrades including active steering, active suspension, limited-slip differential and high-performance tires, making it the "fastest, most powerful Si yet." The 2017 Civic Si will be available at dealerships starting this spring.

The full Honda lineup will also be on display in the booth as well as the redesigned 2017 CR-V. The Euro-inspired 2017 Civic Hatchback will also be featured in the iHeart Radio Lounge sponsored by the Greater Twin Cities Honda Dealers.
