The event, Driving the Auto Industry Forward: Transforming the Car Ownership Experience, will be held on March 30, 2017.
The forum will take place at Plug and Play Technology Center in Sunnyvale, Calif., a global innovation platform connecting startups to corporations. The program will include a panel discussion with speakers including YourMechanic President and CEO Anthony Rodio, Ally Insurance Executive Vice President and COO Angie Tuglus, eBay Motors General Manager of Parts and Accessories Sree Menon and Turo Chief Business Officer David Stewart.
Alexis Evans, Director of Communications at AutoMobility LA/Los Angeles Auto Show, will moderate the panel, with a focus on discussing how businesses and startups across the automotive lifecycle – from purchasing, financing, repairing, selling, and monetizing – are working to address the evolving needs of today's car owner. Program topics will include changes in customer behavior, environmental impact of car ownership, consolidation of vehicle use and the future of personal car ownership.
Startup Lane, an exhibit of up-and-coming startups, will be on-site with founders available to demonstrate new products and solutions that aim to disrupt the traditions of car ownership.
Booths from LotBlok, Prazo, Selly Automotive, SHIFTMobility, Turo, YourMechanic, and other startups will be featured. Turo, the leading peer-to-peer car rental marketplace will bring celebrity vehicle, Erlich's 2006 Ford Escape Aviato, to the event.
Projections estimate shared mobility platforms, new connectivity services, technology advancements, and innovative business models will expand automotive industry revenue by 30 percent, adding $1.5 trillion in coming years.1
