U-Haul to Offer 1,000 Indoor Storage Units at New Facility in West Kelowna

WEST KELOWNA, British Columbia, Nov. 21, 2016 -- U-Haul is putting its adaptive reuse practices to use by transforming a former Zellers© department building into its first company-owned and -operated store in West Kelowna.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of West Kelowna at 3571 Old Okanagan Road will offer truck and trailer rentals, moving supplies, towing equipment and professional hitch installation, U-Box portable moving and self-storage containers, and more.

When renovations are done in 2017, there will be more than 1,000 indoor climate-controlled self-storage units. The 110,000-square-foot building will incorporate all of U-Haul Company's state-of-the-art security features. While waiting for the permanent self-storage units to be constructed, customers can use U-Box containers as temporary self-storage units.

The acquisition of the West Kelowna facility was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint.
