Infinity Transportation Logistics Named SmartWay Transport Partner By EPA

WASHINGTON, Aug. 31, 2016 -- The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently approved Infinity Transportation Logistics, LLC. (ITL) as a SmartWay Transport Partner for reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Launched by the EPA in 2004, SmartWay Transport Partnership promotes environmentally cleaner, more fuel efficient transportation options, and is an innovative collaboration between the EPA and the freight industry to voluntarily achieve improved fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution from freight transport.  In particular, SmartWay identifies products and services that reduce transportation-related emissions.  Participating companies (such as ITL) benchmark their current freight operations, identify technologies and strategies to reduce their carbon emissions, track emissions reductions and project future improvement.  SmartWay Partners demonstrate to customers, clients, and investors that they are taking responsibility for the emissions associated with freight movement, are committed to corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices, and are reducing their carbon footprint.

The SmartWay program is beneficial for Infinity Transportation Logistics (ITL) and its customers, as it helps to reduce fuel consumption, saves money, and has a positive impact on the environment.   As a result, Infinity Transportation Logistics is highly committed to this partnership and is working to further improve fuel-efficiency and emission control technologies for its intermodal container fleet that will help ITL, its customers and the environment.

ITL provides eastbound temperature-controlled door-to-door domestic intermodal service from Washington State and Oregon to the following Midwest and East Coast destinations or locations: Illinois (Greater Chicago & surrounding areas including western Michigan, southern Wisconsin and northern Indiana); New York (Buffalo area, New York City & its boroughs); Pennsylvania (Chambersburg, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia areas); Maryland (greater Baltimore area); Massachusetts (Boston and Springfield areas); Georgia (greater Atlanta area); Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa Bay areas), and the greater Toronto area of Canada.

ITL's expedited door-to-door domestic intermodal temperature-controlled service departs from/returns to intermodal ramps in Spokane, WA, Portland, OR & Seattle, WA six days per week.  ITL has a service radius of about 160 miles from/to intermodal ramps in Spokane, Portland & Seattle, and can pick up/drop off product in many parts of Washington, Oregon & Idaho including: greater Portland, OR area, Willamette Valley, OR, Hood River, OR, Bend, OR, Columbia Basin of WA & OR, greater Wenatchee, WA area, Yakima Valley, WA, Skagit Valley, WA, Puget Sound, WA area, greater Spokane, WA area and northern Idaho.

ITL's door-to-door transit times are only 4 to 5 days to/from the Midwest and just 6 to 7 days to/from various destinations on the East Coast, which is nearly as fast as long-haul trucks.

ITL utilizes state-of-the-art domestic 53-ft refrigerated containers to move fresh produce (i.e…apples, potatoes, pears, onions, carrots, etc.), frozen foods (i.e…frozen French fries, frozen fish, frozen vegetables, frozen fruit, frozen juice concentrate, etc.), and other refrigerated products eastbound from Washington State and Oregon to the Midwest and East Coast.

For return westbound service from the above mentioned Midwest and East Coast locations to Washington State and Oregon, ITL is able to haul various refrigerated and temperature controlled products (i.e…frozen pizza, frozen yogurt, frozen seafood, frozen dough, beverages, frozen juice concentrate, etc.) or dry products.

To continue to raise awareness about its expedited domestic temperature controlled intermodal service, ITL will be attending/participating this fall at the following conferences:

  • Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) Intermodal Expo. from September 18-20 in Houston, Texas;
  • Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Fresh Summit from October 14-16 in Orlando, Florida.
  • National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association Convention from October 22-25 in Washington, DC.

About Infinity

Infinity Management Partners and its subsidiaries (collectively Infinity) are Atlanta, Georgia-based limited liability companies specializing in the acquisition and leasing of freight transportation assets.  Infinity got its start in the rail industry in 2003, accumulating over 6,000 units of rail rolling stock over the balance of the decade.  The portfolio was a diverse group of boxcars, small cube and jumbo covered hoppers, gondolas, flatcars and tank cars leased to an even more diverse group of users carrying freight in many different industries.

In 2009, Infinity joined with one of the world's leading financial services institutions to launch Infinity Transportation (IT), an enterprise created to acquire used rail, intermodal and other transportation equipment, and repair, modify or renovate it as needed, and then lease the equipment to railroads and shippers. Since its inception, IT and its successors and affiliates have acquired a total of approximately $625 million of railcar rolling stock, intermodal assets (domestic intermodal chassis and domestic intermodal containers), delivery/dray trucks and over-the-road trailers.

In 2014, Infinity launched its intermodal operating platform, Infinity Transportation Logistics.
