Right lane restriction for truckers on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge towards the South Shore

MERCIER, QC, Aug. 24, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l'Électrification des transports wishes to inform truckers that it is actually forbidden to drive on the right lane of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge towards the South Shore. This temporary restriction is in place since August 22nd and will be there for approximately one month.

Subsequently, for approximately one month, it will be forbidden for truckers to drive on the left lane, always towards the South Shore. The signage will be adjusted.

This restriction is required to ensure the safety of workers under the bridge, as part of annual maintenance work.

Those interventions might be shortened due to work progress.

Between 2016 and 2018, about $4.7 billion will be invested by the ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l'Électrification des transports in the road network, and there will be about 2 100 construction sites throughout Québec. To plan your trips and find out about current and projected traffic hindrance, consult the Mobility Montréal section of the Québec511.info website. Respecting road signs is vital for the safety of road users and workers.
