World's Elite Athletes And Stars Celebrate With "Suite" Escape To Aruba

LOS ANGELES, July 13, 2016 -- As the world's elite athletes and stars align for the ESPYS, Aruba invites them to celebrate with a "suite" escape to the One happy island. Damaryius Thomas, Alexander Rossi, Derrick Henry and Danica Patrick are a few of the many champions planning to enjoy a star-studded vacation in Aruba.

"While Aruba is beloved as the sunniest island in the Caribbean, we also love our stars, and it gives us great pleasure to host these legendary athletes for some well-deserved rest and relaxation," said Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, CEO of Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA).

Arubans are active participants in the international sports craze, as the island is home to seven qualifying Olympians for 2016 summer games and Boston Red Sox Star Xander Bogaerts, who was selected as the starting shortstop for the 2016 MLB All-Star Game.

"Aruba is famous for beautiful beaches and friendly locals, but there's also a sports-oriented, active side that makes our island the perfect escape for stars seeking both R&R and adventure," said Tjin Asjoe-Croes.

In recent years, movie star Peter Facinelli enjoyed an action-packed, JetLev rocket experience above the turquoise seas while NFL Network Analyst and former pro football player Akbar Gbaja-Biamila relaxed with flamingos on Renaissance Island.

A diverse range of activities await on every corner of the island, from beach tennis on the southwest coast's white-powder sands and horseback riding along the rugged and wild northern shore to stand-up paddle boarding in the secluded Spanish Lagoon and 18-hole golf with 365-degree views of the Aruba's dynamic landscape.

About Aruba
As one of the most revisited destinations in the Caribbean, Aruba -- One happy island -- is an island of contradictions, where pristine turquoise waters collide against the desert-like terrain of the north shore; where peace and relaxation coexist with wild and rugged adventures; where Dutch influence meets American ease and where a diverse history parallels a bright future. Nestled in the southern Caribbean outside the fringes of the hurricane belt, the island is just a two-and-a-half-hour flight from Miami, a four-hour flight from New York City and boasts year-round cooling trade winds with an average 82-degree temperature. Aruba offers beach-lovers, adrenaline junkies, relaxation-seekers and everyone in between a slice of paradise with breathtaking beaches, a booming culinary scene of over 300 restaurants with 25+ located ideally on the water, world-famous festivals and events, exciting land and water activities, art galleries and museums, sumptuous spas, championship golf, exclusive shopping and signature experiences such as cooling off in Conchi, Aruba's natural pool-- accessible only by foot or off-road vehicle. With all-inclusive options, boutique properties in charming Eagle Beach, high-rise branded resorts in Palm Beach and cosmopolitan city hotels in Oranjestad, the island of contradictions provides the perfect getaway for both first-time guests and loyal visitors.
