In Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Action

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., July 2 - When the leader of Saturday's 2-hour-and-30-minute
Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race at Watkins Glen International had to brake
for a meandering Mini Cooper he was lapping just four minutes before the finish,
Bodymotion Racing's driver Trent Hindman saw his chance and took it.

The 20-year-old driver from Wayside, N.J. passed them both and put the Bodymotion
Racing No. 12 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, which he shares with Cameron Cassels,
into the lead. He then he went on to record their third consecutive series victory
in the Grand Sport (GS) class by 1.101 seconds.
The team's entry in the series' Street Tuner (ST) class, a 2012 Porsche Cayman driven
by Jason Rabe and Devin Jones, recorded its best finish of the year when it came
from the 17th starting position to finish second in that class at the team's home
track. Bodymotion, a full-service automotive repair facility, is headquartered in
Ocean Township, N.J.
Hindman also set a new track record in recording the fastest lap of the race on
lap 60 of the 66-lap event with a time of 1:59.262 for an average speed of 102.6
miles per hour for the 3.4-mile, 11-turn road course in upstate New York.
Cassels, a rookie from Coldstream, British Columbia, Canada who was making his first
start at The Glen, started sixth in the 34-car field and in the top class, Grand
Sport. He ran in fifth, sixth or seventh places during his stint, but he did have
one scare when he spun and continued in Turn 7 on lap 22, about 55 minutes into
the race. He quickly recovered and completed two more laps to make sure the car
wasn't worse for wear before pitting for new tires, fuel and for Hindman to take
 over the driving duties.

Hindman started his stint in 15th overall and eighth in class, but he set the fastest
lap of the race on lap 25 with a 1:59.271 that he bettered in the late stages of
the race. He broke into the top five on lap 39 when some of his competitors pitted.
He made his own pit stop for fuel and fresh Continental tires on lap 44 with 48
minutes remaining in the race. The Bodymotion Racing pit stop went flawlessly. Trent
advanced to fourth place on lap 48, but it was apparent that he needed a full-course
caution to improve his track position.
He got it one lap later when Seth Thomas spun after contact with a Mini.
Hindman advanced to third after a rival pitted under that yellow. He was already
in a podium position for the restart on lap 54 with 22 minutes remaining, but he
wanted more if he could possibly get it.
The result was a stirring battle with the second-place car driven by Tyler McQuarrie.
The pair swapped the position several times, which allowed the leader, Marc Miller,
to gain an advantage over them. Hindman finally took second from McQuarrie for good
on lap 60, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process, and then was able
to pull right up to the rear bumper of Miller's Porsche.
Catching Miller was one thing; passing him would be another. When Miller slowed
due to the lapped car just four minutes from the end, Hindman seized the opportunity
and the lead. McQuarrie also passed Miller, relegating Miller to the final podium
position at the end.
The top three Grand Sport drivers were all piloting Porsche Caymans GT4 Clubsports.

Rabe, of Monticello, N.Y., was in the thick of things in a wild start to the race
with the No. 31 Porsche Cayman that he shares with Jones, of Mooresville, N.C. Somehow
Rabe was able to miss getting involved in a multi-car crash in Turn 2 at the start.
His maneuverability was rewarded royally, as he jumped from 17th to eighth in class
for the restart with the entry, which is sponsored in part by VeriStor and Delaware
Investments.
Rabe continued to move up during his stint. He got some positions by passes and
some by attrition, and when the class leader spun in Turn 6 on lap 27, Rabe moved
into second place in class. He was still second in class, only 0.327 behind the
class leader, and ninth overall when he pitted for fuel, tires and for Jones to
take over working lap 32.
Jones got the class lead on lap 35 due to pit stops. The eventual class winner,
Spencer Pumpelly, passed him working lap 42, but Jones held on for the entry's best
finish of the year when he took the checkered flag in second place. Connor Bloom
put on a charge to pass him near the end but spun out trying, but again the top
three finishers in class of Pumpelly, Jones and Corey Lewis were all driving Porsches.
Jones, who was making his first start at The Glen ever, set his entry's fastest
lap of the race on lap 63 with a 2:06.967.

Post-race quotes follow:
Cameron Cassels: "For me the race obviously ended really, really well. Expectations
going into this race definitely were not the results we got today. I started focusing
quite a while ago not on results but just on trying to improve my race craft and
my driving. I let the team do what they have to do and Trent do what he has to
do.
"I made a mistake towards the end of my stint where I just tried to push too hard
through Turn 7 and purely just inexperience put me into a situation where I really
had to become a better driver to save it from hitting the wall. It was pretty interesting.
I grabbed a couple gears and kept going back to rolling forward. I did a couple
laps and made sure I hadn't hurt the car at all for Trent. I didn't damage the car
but I flat-spotted the tires. The Continental Tires held up incredibly well despite
my abuse I gave them.
"We never had this expectation going in; for me I'm just trying to continue to progress
and learn, and just get to know the team a bit better and Trent a bit better.
"It's going to get harder from here on in. Every win so far has been tighter and
tighter and tighter. I expect that to continue.
"Mosport will be a challenge; I've never walked the track; never seen the track.
I saw it on TV a couple of times, and that's been my exposure to it. Definitely
my analogy of drinking through fire hoses is still there; it hasn't diminished any."
Trent Hindman: "It was tough. I was screaming so hard that I lost my voice!
"That caution at the end really helped us out. The C.J. Wilson guys were unbelievably
strong today, so kudos to them. They put up a hell of a fight. But at the end of
the day our Bodymotion Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport held up beautifully.
"The Bodymotion boys gave us a great car, great strategy, great pit stops. It's
difficult to put together races like that, but ultimately we were very lucky to
get away with some of the things that were going on out there. We got through traffic
very well.
"Cam did his job beautifully. We had some issues we were dealing with, but at the
end of the day we pulled it off. I can't believe it!
"Ultimately I just can't thank Cameron, the Bodymotion guys, Continental Tires,
Porsche and everybody. It was just an unbelievable race today!"
Jason Rabe: "The start was pretty hectic. Especially going up the esses on the opening
lap. Cars were wrecking everywhere. It was kind of like a scene from 'Days of Thunder,'
where I literally drove right through it. And then after that we dropped the hammer;
another 'Days of Thunder' quote. And after that I just kept picking guys off. The
car was great. The Bodymotion Racing guys did a hell of a job all week. It's been
a long time coming; it's been too long. Hopefully we'll get more of these podiums.
I think we're in this hunt for the points championship. It was an awesome stint
by Devin to keep it up front. He did a mega job as well. The whole team did a great
job!"
Devin Jones: "It was an incredible day...starting off with Jason's stint coming
from 17th all the way to second. That set us up really well for being there. I had
a nice battle with Spencer and Bloom at the end. It's a really great day for Bodymotion
and VeriStor and everybody who helps us and supports us. It's really nice to represent
them on the podium. They've been working really hard and it feels amazing!"
Michael Bavaro, team owner: "Pretty unbelievable day. Three-peat is a word that
everybody kept using but I thought it could give us bad luck, so we kind of avoided
it all weekend. In these things you have to finish the race. You have to look respectable.
You have to pass tech.
"It looked like we had our work cut out for us in practice and qualifying. Everybody
has really stepped up. The C.J. Wilson team has put a lot of time and work into
their Caymans, and it showed. They were stellar and they were out front.
"I still have to look at this race again and figure out all that went on, if my
stomach can handle it. The guys did a great job. The crew did a great job. The drivers
were unbelievable. I had four drivers who did such a spectacular job. The first
two guys, Cameron and Jason, both did a great job. Jason came from 17th to second
place! And then seventh place up to the lead with Cameron and Trent! It was spectacular
to watch. I enjoyed it. My stomach hurts. We were on the box [in the pits] watching
the race and what we were doing and the strategy was good.
"The pit stops were near spot-on perfect. It takes everything. It's not 99 out of
100. It's 99.9 percent, because the guy in second place got 99 percent. It was a
good day for us. Everyone did well. We had so many of our fans here from the Jersey
shore, Porsche Club and the Zone One Porsche Club. And the Zone One Club is going
to join us up in Canada next week too!
"It was pretty neat to see Porsche sweep GS and ST!" I want to give a special thanks
to the staff of Porsche Motorsports. We had a problem with our Clubsport in practice
and without their assistance we would not have made the race."
The race will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on Fox Sports 1 from 9 a.m. to
11 a.m. on Sunday, July 10.
The next event is coming up next week, July 8-10, at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park
(Mosport) in Bowmanville, Ontario. For more information, see imsa.com, Bodymotion.com
