Motorcycle Racing Legend Mike Baldwin named Grand Marshal of the 2016 FIM North America Vintage Road Race Championships

LOUDON, N.H., June 1, 2016 -- The United States Classic Racing Association (USCRA), the oldest vintage motorcycle road racing organization in the U.S., announced road racing legend and American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Hall of Fame inductee Mike Baldwin as Grand Marshal of the 16th annual FIM North America Vintage Road Race Championships, June 11-12, 2016 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, New Hampshire.

"Mike Baldwin represents the heart and soul of international motorcycle racing," said Bob Coy, founder and executive director of the USCRA. "With a long, successful racing career in the U.S. and abroad piloting a variety of machines including Kawasaki, Yamaha, Ducati, Laverda and Moto Guzzi – we're honored to have Mike part of this great vintage motorcycling event."

Baldwin, a four-time consecutive winner of the AMA Laconia National from 1982 to 1985, is a five-time AMA Formula One Champion and all-time series wins leader with 27 AMA National wins. He was a top contender in 1980's AMA Superbike racing and the first three-time Suzuka 8 Hours endurance road race winner.  In international Grand Prix road racing, he campaigned a series of factory efforts beginning in 1979 with Suzuki, before moving to Honda and Yamaha.  In 1986, he finished fourth overall in the 500cc Grand Prix World Championships.

He was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2001.
