Kids Adventure Games Kicks Off 2016 Season On Memorial Day Weekend With Toyota As Sponsor

VAIL, Colo., May 24, 2016 -- Kids just want to have fun, and Toyota and Kids Adventure Games have teamed up to do just that.

Kids Adventure Games (Kids A.G.), the country's premier adventure race for children ages 6 - 14, begins the 2016 season with Toyota at the helm. The automaker is the presenting sponsor for the national event series which has become one of the most anticipated family outings of the summer. Toyota will have a presence at each of the eight races, all taking place at ski resorts across the nation. The series kicks off Memorial Day weekend and concludes Labor Day weekend, and will make stops at some of the most adventurous cities in the country, giving families an opportunity to experience the thrill of adventure racing and problem-solving while building core values like teamwork and sportsmanship.

The Kids Adventure Games™ originated in Vail, Colorado in 2010 as a way to promote outdoor play among children and teens, has organically grown into a national series with support from corporate sponsors, including Horizon Organic, Clif Kid and GoPro. The event invites families to unplug from technology for a fun-filled weekend that strengthens physical and emotional bonds through a series of challenges centered on building grit and resilience. This year's games feature teams of two, navigating the adventure course, which includes biking, trekking, rope swings, mud pits, cargo nets, a giant Slip 'N Slide, zip lines, and other exciting obstacles. The games in each city are tailored to the natural terrain of the area to maintain the authenticity and personality distinct to that location.

"Toyota shares Kids Adventure Games vision to bring to elevate the power of play and encourage children to develop life skills in an adrenaline-packed way," said Tyler McBride, Engagement Marketing Manager, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. "We believe in supporting programs that encourage people of all ages to get outside and explore new environments as part of life's journey into the unknown. Toyota's 'Let's Go Places' spirit drives that message home and makes the Games a great fit for our brand."

As presenting sponsor, Kids A.G. participants and their families will enjoy a variety of Toyota-exclusive experiences, including the special race-day "Toyota Terrain" activation, a relaxation area and cheer section designed for parents, helmet decorations, free photos of competitors going over a designated obstacle, ride and drives featuring the Toyota Sienna and Highlander, custom cooler giveaways for Toyota owners and more. Additionally, one team will be awarded the Toyota Spirit Award during each day's race for working together with loyalty, enthusiasm, and cooperation, while encouraging other teams along the way.

"Toyota's tagline 'Let's Go Places' fits in perfectly with the Kids A.G. as our team travels across the country providing the nation's youth with an amazing opportunity to go places, with their families, on their bikes, in river tubes and more," said Helene Mattison, Kids A.G. Co-founder. "We're thrilled to have Toyota join the Kids A.G. family and look forward to a great summer traveling and going places."

About Kids Adventure Games (Kids A.G.)
The Kids Adventure Games™ was co-founded in 2009 by Hélène and Billy Mattison in Vail, Colorado. In 2013, after four successful summer events, Kids A.G. expanded the concept to a national platform with eight events taking place throughout the country. It is the only race of its kind in the nation. The goal is to create a fun and confidence building outdoor experience for kids to gain problem-solving skills while navigating a mountain obstacle course. Participants learn self-reliance, grit and resiliency through the thrill of adventure racing, while enhancing teamwork skills, sportsmanship and a healthy, active lifestyle. www.kidsadventuregames.com
