Motorsports HoF Announces Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations As Presenting Sponsor for Annual Induction Ceremony

Three-year partnership to begin with June 29 induction at Daytona International Speedway

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 8, 2015) – The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America announced today that Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC will serve as presenting sponsor of its annual induction ceremony for the next three years, beginning with the 28th annual ceremony on Wednesday, June 29 at Daytona International Speedway.

This year marks the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America’s inaugural year of activity at Daytona International Speedway, its new home after a 27-year run based in Novi, Michigan. The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America is expected to be fully operative by summer and will be housed in the speedway’s Ticket and Tours Building.

The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America honors achievement in all forms of motorized competition, with a total of 223 inductees thus far. The 2016 class of inductees will be announced at Daytona International Speedway later this month during the Rolex 24 at Daytona race weekend.

“We are in the process of moving into the ‘World Center of Racing’ which makes this announcement very appropriate, as we are partnering with Bridgestone, a world-renowned company, to take our induction ceremony to the next level,” said MHOF President Ron Watson.

“This is the sort of partnership that reflects our new operation at Daytona International Speedway. It will help truly showcase our new class of inductees as part of the excitement surrounding Daytona International Speedway’s Coke Zero 400 weekend this summer.”

“Motorsports is in the Bridgestone brand’s DNA and has played an integral role in building our brands around the globe,” said Lisa Boggs, director of Bridgestone Americas Motorsports. “We are proud to support the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America as it ushers in a new era, and continues to honor the contributions and the legacies of some of the most prestigious names in motorsports.”

Tickets for the induction ceremony can be purchased by calling 248.349.7223 or through the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America's website at www.mshf.com.

The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America is operated by the nonprofit Motorsports Museum and Hall of Fame of America Foundation Inc.

About Motorsports Hall of Fame of America:

The non-profit Motorsports Hall of Fame of America is the nation’s premier motorsports hall of fame. It is the only hall of fame that covers the full spectrum of American motorsports: cars, motorcycles, off-road, powerboats and planes, and is further distinguished by being the only hall of fame that is independent of any controlling group or sanctioning body. Over 200 of the greatest names in American motorsports have already been inducted. On June 29, 2016 we will hold our 28th annual induction ceremony. In 2016, too, the MSHFA will open its new museum at the Daytona International Speedway—home to America’s most important stock car, sports car and motorcycle races—as part of the $400 million DAYTONA Rising project.
