Kia Supports BFBS with a KX-3 Sorento

BFBS Sport will host live coverage of the IRDC Rugby World Cup 2015

Partnership continues between Kia and BFBS

WALTON-ON-THAMES, UK -- Oct. 2, 2015: Jon Knighton, Sports Editor of BFBS Forces TV, and several members of the team will be navigating a Kia Sorento KX-3 to different stadiums across the UK for the second International Defence Rugby Competition, running alongside the Rugby World Cup.

The Royal Navy, The British Army and The Royal Air Force will each be putting forward a team to the knockout stages of the competition, along with other international forces teams. The final will be held at the Twickenham Stoop, which will attract a large and passionate rugby audience two days before the Rugby World Cup Final at Twickenham Stadium.

Jon Knighton said “Kia has been supportive of BFBS these past few years, and we are excited to be working on the coverage of the IRDC with them. Due to the car’s size, we will be able to easily transport video equipment, which means we can provide even more video content to show our servicemen and women across the globe.”

The IRDC Rugby will be kicking off on October 8 in RAF Halton, with South Africa vs Georgia. The tournament will run throughout the month, with the finale scheduled to take place on October 28 at Twickenham Stoop. Tickets for the semi-finals and finals are available at Tickets, or alternatively can be purchased over the phone by calling 0208 410 6010.

Based in Buckinghamshire, BFBS has broadcast to the British Military for almost seventy years, giving servicemen and women around the world the news and sport as if they were at home. BFBS Radio is available on DAB Digital Radio in the UK, on FM across the Forces world, on Sky Guide 0211, Freesat Channel 786, BFBS and via the BFBS smartphone App.
