BRIGHTON, MI - With the Woodward Dream Cruise rolling into town, classic car fans can feast their eyes on a world-class collection of Corvettes, muscle cars and exotics on August 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the “Dream Cars, Dream House, Dream Cruise” fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit, to be held at the Lingenfelter Collection, 7819 Lochlin Drive in Brighton, Mich. Guests will enjoy appetizers and drinks as they view cars from a collection of some of the most sought-after automobiles in the world, including a Bugatti Veyron, an Enzo Ferrari, a LaFerrari and a Lamborghini Reventón. The event takes place just two days before the Woodward Dream Cruise, and both local and visiting car enthusiasts are invited to view this extensive car collection, with some 200 cars on display.

Owners Ken and Kristen Lingenfelter will be on hand to talk about the cars: how they were acquired, enhancements made, and how they perform. The newest addition to the collection is the LaFerrari, a hybrid with 789 hp and a V-12 engine that accelerates from 0 to 150 mph in 9.8 seconds. The car is so rare that buyers, including Ken, must be invited to purchase the car.

The event cost is $60, with proceeds benefitting the House’s Hearts, Hands and Home Campaign. A raffle will be held for a private tour of the collection by the Lingenfelters, along with a 50/50 drawing and a raffle for gift baskets. A brief program led by Executive Director Jennifer Litomisky will tell how the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit serves as a home away from home for families of children who are hospitalized.

The new location of the Ronald McDonald House at 4707 St. Antoine in Midtown, Detroit opened April 1. The 26,000 square foot house has 28 bedrooms with private bathrooms, including five long-term stay rooms; a teen room; a serenity garden; a high-tech media room; spacious lounge areas; and a large kitchen and dining area. Without the House’s services, many families would be driving back and forth to their homes, sleeping at the hospital or staying at local hotels. Room rates at the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit are $10 per night and no one is turned away due to lack of funds.
