DETROIT, June 4, 2015 -- The best viewing area at Detroit's largest country music festival, the Downtown Hoedown, is reserved for those who first experience the power, capabilities and performance of Ram trucks at the brand's Ram Off-road Experience test-drive track.

MORE INFO

The Ram Truck brand will make its lineup of award-winning vehicles available for test drives during both days of the festival, June 5-6, making the brand's off-road test track one of the top attractions for concert goers at the 33rd Annual WYCD Downtown Hoedown, presented by Ram Trucks.

The two-day festival of country music will be held at the city's new West Riverfront Park and feature entertainment by more than 20 artists, including headliners Darius Rucker and Rascal Flats. The 20-acre West Riverfront Park is the newest addition to the city's RiverWalk plan to convert 5.5 miles of riverfront into parks and public spaces.

"Few things are more natural than Ram trucks and country music, and bringing them together in our hometown is a recipe for a great time," said Jeff Hines, Director of the Great Lakes Business Center – FCA US LLC. "We are proud to continue our sponsorship of Detroit's Downtown Hoedown and provide concertgoers a chance to experience their favorite music with the power and capability of Ram trucks."

Participants at the Ram Off-road Experience will be given rides with a performance driver, in either a Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500, across an obstacle course that demonstrates the truck's capabilities, including a 30-degree wedge to demonstrate traction; rocks and logs to demonstrate articulation and stability; bumps to demonstrate suspension; and a Ram Mountain to demonstrate the ground clearance, approach and departure angles.

There is no additional fee for Hoedown attendees to participate in the experience. Participants will receive a Ram T-shirt upon completion of the test drive, which will give them exclusive access to the Ram Special Viewing Area.

The Ram Off-road Experience can be found at the Detroit's West Riverfront Park and will be open during the following dates and times:

Friday, June 5 4 p.m. − sundown

Saturday, June 6 Noon – sundown
