Auto Shanghai 2015 Will be Grandly Held in April

"Innovation for Upgrading"

SHANGHAI -- April 9, 2015: The 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2015) will be grandly held at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from April 22 to April 29, 2015. With the theme of "Innovation for Upgrading," Auto Shanghai 2015 will not only showcase how technical innovation deduces the grand prospect of future automobile industry development, but also enable visitors to feel the infinite charm result from the continuous coordination and development of automobile culture and human life.

Organizers of Auto Shanghai 2015 include China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai Sub-Council, and China Council for the Promotion of International trade, Automotive Sub-Council. Co-organizers include Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and MMG-Messe Muenchen International/IMAG as the European Co-organizer. China Machinery Industry Federation is the special supporter of the show while the Society of Automotive Engineers of China is the supporter. According to the exhibition schedule, April 20 to April 21 are press days open to media from domestic and overseas; April 22 to April 24 are professional days and April 25 to April 29 are public days.

With a general exhibition area of over 350,000sqm and 109 world first issue cars, Auto Shanghai 2015 has attracted the active participation of around 2,000 famous domestic and international exhibitors from 18 countries and regions, occupying all the 13 indoor halls of NECC (Shanghai). Among them, 8 halls are for passenger vehicles (1H, 2H, 4.1H, 5.1H, 6.1H, 7.1H, 7.2H, 8.2H); 1 hall is for commercial vehicles (3H); 3 halls are for auto parts manufacturers (4.2H, 5.2H, 6.2H); 1 hall is for media and press center (8.1H). Except the above, functional and service area such as catering area, resting area, clinic etc. can also be found in the exhibition center.

The Assembly of Domestic and International Auto-makers

Self-owned Brands: Domestic self-owned brands will joint effort to compete against international brands. The six largest domestic auto groups - SAIC Group, Dongfeng Motor, FAW, Changan Automobile, GAC Group and BAIC Motor will all display their group image with full range of brands and huge exhibition scale, showing the confidence and strength for becoming the world-class self-owned brand manufacturer possessing self innovation ability and key technologies. Chery group, Geely group, Great Wall, Brilliance Auto, BYD, JAC, Hawtai, ZOTYE, Soueast, Haima, Lifan, Leopaard and Landwind will release their amazing new cars respectively.

International Brands: The long-awaited Auto Shanghai 2015 will be a spectacular visual display attended by a roll call of global auto giants with their unprecedented model lineups.

German auto-makers like Mercedes-Benz, Smart, BMW, and MINI will display their new models as well as unique booth designs. Volkswagen Group, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Bentley, Porsche, Lamborghini will also come to this stage. Toyota, Honda and Nissan from Japanese lineup will bring with all of their subsidiary brands. U.S.A. lineup, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler will gather in Auto Shanghai 2015 with their joint venture partners. It should mention that Lincoln, Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac, and Acura will attend independently, close to their competitor brands Benz, BMW, Jaguar & Land Rover, and Volvo. This arrangement will contribute to the brand promotions as well as facilitate visitors.

1. Auto Shanghai Summit 2015

On the afternoon of April 19, the 4th Auto Shanghai Summit 2015 will be held at Westin Bund Center Shanghai. With the theme of "Innovation and Integration, for a New Environment of Online Automobile Industry", Auto Shanghai Summit 2015 will invite Chinese and foreign industry professionals to attend and discuss the innovation and integration of automobile industry under the circumstance of mobile networking development.

2. Press Days

From April 20 to April 21, auto-maker and auto parts exhibitors will hold around 100 press conferences at their booths and meeting rooms, declaring the grand opening of Auto Shanghai 2015. Rounds of new car release will attract Chinese and foreign journalists to vie with each other for the report, which will once again draw the attention of worldwide to Shanghai. At the mean time, the press schedule will be available on the official website of Auto Shanghai 2015.

3. Match-making Events and Technical Forums

During the exhibition period, the Organizer will launch series of match-making events and technical forums, including workshops, symposiums, special procurement and trade fairs etc., theme of which covers automotive manufacturing, new materials and new technologies.

For a Safe and Civilized Event

To ensure a safe, civilized, environmentally friendly, enjoyable and rewarding event, Shanghai Municipal Government and relative departments have attached high importance and made great support to the organization of Auto Shanghai 2015. Considering NECC (Shanghai) is still under the stage of trial operation, the Organizer has taken active measures to react and prepared various emergency plans against the challenge of surrounding traffic, accommodation and catering demands. In order to relieve traffic jam in the surrounding area of the exhibition center, the Organizer suggests visitors to choose public transport or free shuttle bus as means of arrival; The Organizer will release self-travel guidance information on the official website and APP for visitors, so that they can arrive at the appointed parking lots and take free shuttle bus to the exhibition center; Regarding to the rush hour after the show, the Organizer will make general coordination and arrange shuttle buses to deliver visitors from the exhibition center to the corresponding metro stations of Line 9, Line 10 and Line 13. At the entrance of several popular halls, the Organizer will set up queuing areas to maintain the order. In addition, the Organizer will release a set of guidelines for proper behavior and decorum at the event, to ensure the cooperation of exhibitors and visitors alike and avoid uncivilized behaviors. Cancellation of Selective Day Ticket

There is only one type of ticket for Auto Shanghai 2015 - single day ticket. Selective day ticket is cancelled. From now to April 19, visitors can book the tickets on the official website of Auto Shanghai 2015 or through the official sales agencies (962288, ticket2010, tickets.com.cn, damai.cn, gewara.com). At the same time, to ensure visitors can travel conveniently, the opening hours of Auto Shanghai 2015 have been regulated to 10:00-18:00. Those visitors who have already booked tickets with entry time of 9:00 can refund or change the tickets at the sales office where the tickets were issued.

Pre-registration System for the Media and Press Center:

The Organizer has set up a pre-registration system for the media on the official website. Qualified journalists will receive an email informing them of their media credentials. From April 18 to April 20, journalists (Chinese and foreign) can check in and pick up their media passes at on-site media counters set up by the Organizer on the North Square of NECC (Shanghai). The press center will be open to the media from April 20 for providing an excellent working environment as well as technical support for live onsite reporting.
