AURORA, ON -- Feb. 18, 2015: Magna International Inc. announced today the grand opening of Autotek Morelos, a new greenfield facility in Emiliano Zapata, Morelos, Mexico, for the assembly of automotive chassis products. Company officials were joined by members of state and local government as well as customers to celebrate the occasion.

The 130,000-square-foot facility will produce structural welded assemblies for global automakers including Nissan, and is expected to employ approximately 300 people at full production.

"On behalf of Magna, I want to thank the local community and the state of Morelos for their ongoing support and collaboration on this project," said Sandro Passera, Executive Vice President of Operations in Mexico for Cosma International, Magna's body and chassis operating unit. "They have helped make it possible for us to continue growing our world-class manufacturing operation, and we are excited for the opportunity to support our customers from this new facility."

Magna established its first facility in Mexico in 1991 with the opening of Autotek Puebla. Today, the addition of Autotek Morelos gives Magna 31 facilities and more than 24,000 employees in Mexico.
